cosycoffeehouse

You're invited to join us for coffee!

Cosycoffeehouse is a space where young people can gather to chill with their friends and enjoy good conversations.

Join us on a Wednesday lunchtime to relax, listen to music, play pool or table tennis and discuss the issues that matter to you.

We will serve you with any of the items on our FairTrade menu free of charge: fruit juice, tea, coffee or hot chocolate with your choice of toppings.  A selection of FairTrade snacks is available for purchase, but please bring your own lunch with you.

Cosycoffeehouse Annual Report 2010:

"Preach the Gospel. If necessary, use words."

Cosycoffeehouse has seen another busy year, with up to 100 young people dropping in for a hot chocolate and a chat each week, with an average weekly attendance of 85. Our team of 17 staff work very hard on a rota basis, although many have so much fun they come every week!

We have had a number of visitors over the year, including one of Bathgate Academy's Depute Rectors, the school's attached police officer PC McKenna and the clergy team from Livingston Ecumenical Parish. A few young adults taking part in the Future Jobs Fund have offered their services from time to time, through the Boghall Drop-in Centre.

Financially, this year could have been difficult for Cosycoffeehouse. Income, including donations, is down on last year, as is to be expected given the current economic climate. However, the goodwill of many staff and members of the congregation combined with an effort to drive down costs means we have vastly reduced our expenditure. In turn, we only asked the Congregational Board to subsidise us by £50 this year, compared to £100 in all previous years.

St. Frances of Assisi said "Preach the Gospel. If necessary, use words." We believe through hospitality, conversation and service we are sharing the Gospel message with our young people and we ask for your continued prayer as we look forward to another exciting year ahead.
